After this action of Google, lot of users asked for more easy search for exact searches and Google today introduced “verbatim search”. Its located in “More search tools” on the left-hand side.

As per Google, It will offer you following search benefits

making automatic spelling corrections
personalizing your search by using information such as sites you’ve visited before
including synonyms of your search terms (matching “car” when you search [automotive])
finding results that match similar terms to those in your query (finding results related to “floral delivery” when you search [flower shops])
searching for words with the same stem like “running” when you’ve typed [run]
making some of your terms optional, like “circa” in [the scarecrow circa 1963]

When one thinks about writing an article the most important thought kept in mind is to be aware of the topic and the grammar, but when asked to write for SEO the phrase is ‘ content is the only King’. Everything has logic and this to. Search engines are there to help users to find the information they are looking for. The content written in your article is crawled by search engine in the search of word by which user will search what he s looking for. If you succeed in having proper keywords in your content then search engine thinks that it might be useful for the users and so it ranks higher.
This not only get higher ranking but help them to maintain it to. One should be careful while putting these keywords so that they don’t look out of order in the article and suit site structure.

Let’s talk about the priorities of content .The first and the most important thing to be considered is keywords .The one responsible for the contents of a website should know the keywords for the company. These keywords should be reviewed and updated regularly as business develops with time. If you have access to view the statistics of your website, you can definitely get to know what keywords are being useful in bringing user to your website and will help you to improve the keywords in content.

Key phrase is also another option. Key phrase is when one, two or three words are put together to improve and increase the search option. For example if you put ‘London cab driver jobs’ ,now this is which include three phrases ‘London’ ‘cab driver’ ‘jobs’. This will help you to rank in various searches. visit Content Writing Services Company

On Page is not the same as it was like 10 years ago, in past if you have observed and did On Page SEO in past, you will have seen that repeating the keywords in title, description, contents, alt tags and title tags produced great results for top 10 positions. But now a days optimizing page for On Page SEO is completely changed, we will try to find out how much keyword repetition is in acceptable before its consider as SPAM, importance of usability …..We will also try to find out if and when we need to target multiple pages for each keyword terms.

In On page SEO, following are the main factors, like Title, description, header and alt tags, topic/theme of the page, use of related keywords, Depth/Value of contents, user experience/behavior towards ( Usability, Design and Quality) and repetition of keywords. If you use your keywords in Title, Description and Page headers, think you have done most of the On Page SEO work as webmaster, but some of other factors are also important like page contents. Let us try to divide these factors

Title/Description/Header Tags = 20% to 25% on Page SEO
Value of Contents (Topic Theme/ Related Keywords) = 20% of On Page SEO
Usability (Design, Quality or Easy to use) = 20%
Use of Main Keyword (Repetition of Keywords) = 35%

Repetition of Keywords (35%) does not mean to use to same keywords again and again, you can use alternative keyword, key phrases etc. Anything more in terms of repetition can be considered as Spam.

How to know if you need separate page for your keywords:
So how to if you need separate page and contents for your keyword. You need to see if your keywords are only variation or they are unique, If unique keywords, you will have to create a separate pages otherwise for variation of keywords, same page produces higher rankings.

Let us try to understand by example:

Keyword Variation: If these are like variation

Nokia Phones
Buy Nokia Phones
Cheap Nokia Phones
Nokia Mobiles

Having as given can be done with single page and will product great results

Unique Keywords: Now same thing but if you have separate brands, you can consider having separate pages like

Nokia Phones
Samsung Phones

Having these on separate pages will produce good results.

Usability or User behavior:
In on page SEO, while ranking certain pages, Google also consider, if previous user who visited these pages, what was their reaction on these. Did they leave the page without spending time and again when they searched same terms; they left your page and visited another page. What’s click through rate of your page as compared to others ranking with you or near you, if your user Plus +1 (Liked) or they disliked your page. Google also comes to know via browser behavior or toolbar that how much time was spent on your webpage by visitors. There are many more factors which also consider by this algorithm while ranking results.

So we have found that not only Keyword, but site usability also plays important part in On Page SEO and ranking on your keywords. So next time when you will have On Page SEO, try to be in limits of keyword usages and consider other factors of On page SEO also.

We have seen that after recent Google Algorithm updates like Panda updates and Vince update, Google is giving more importance to Brand Names, for example when we type in Google “handbags” it is showing more results where you can see various brand names related to Jackets. Here at Submitshop Blog, We will try to find out how Google determine if certain search is related to any brand name and what brand signal Google needs to see while giving importance to certain brand names.

If you will search in Google “handbags” it will show extra results with brand names which can send you extra traffic and sales.

Brands:
Coach Chanel Gucci Louis Vuitton Prada
Stores:
eBags Handbag Heaven Debenhams Overstock Macy’s
Types:
knockoff inspired leather purses hobo

How Google see if its brand names?

After reading this post you will be able to find out how to rank on brand names and get extra traffic from Google

1.	Google Search Terms and Clicks – First signal for Google is various search terms and clicks on them from web users. If user searched for Brand names, it will be surely first result in Search and if he searched any keyword, it may be 2nd or 3rd or any other search position he clicked. For example if user entered “Submitshop” he surely will click the first result which is Submitshop.com why which Google comes to know that Submitshop is brand name. If user is going to search for “SEO Company” he may click on any of the result from top 10.

In Google webmaster tools, we have also seen that “Submitshop” will have higher CTR as compared to “Submit Shop” which also shows that brand names have always higher CTR because many user only comes to search certain brand names which produces higher CTR.

2.	Anchor Text Linking – Anchor text linking also plays important part for Google to determine the brand signal. If certain website is linked with only one or two target keywords, its not the brand signal, if its linked naturally on various terms related to Brand with variation, Google comes to know that its Brand Name for example, If Submitshop is linked with various anchor texts naturally like

Submitshop.com
www.Submitshop.com
http://www.submitshop.com
SubmitShop
Submit Shop
Submitshop SEO

3.	Social Media Mention – Social media also plays important part for giving a Signal to Google to make sure of certain term is brand name or not, Social media user comes from wide range of areas and any mention of these social networking websites of your brand names plays important part for ranking of your website in terms of brand. Also if you have profiles created in all Social Media sites with your brand names, it also helps in Brand signal. For example, having Submitshop mentions in twitter, facebook, Linkedin, Plus One and other social media sites and if Submitshop user names is reserved on all social media sites.

Keyword Search Volume : Keyword Search Volume like “Nike shows” Nike Jackets” also gives Google more signal of Brands, if you will search here http://www.google.com/insights/search/, you can check keyword trend and search volumes. Let us see on http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=handbags, you will see that its shows as following trends

coach handbags 80
louis vuitton handbags 50

These search volumes helps Google to determine brands and display in search terms when we searched for keyword “Handbags”

Google also calculate news mentions while giving importance which brand name to display.

Google started with this example while mentioning new update of “Freshness Algorithm”, Google says

“Search results, like warm cookies right out of the oven or cool refreshing fruit on a hot summer’s day, are best when they’re fresh. Even if you don’t specify it in your search, you probably want search results that are relevant and recent.”

It seems that Google is getting more closer and closer to realtime search in terms of providing best user experience. Now you can find the latest and fresh information for each search term called “Freshness Algorithm”. This algorithm change will have positive and negative points as well, we will try to find out.

What is Freshness Algorithm ?

Google have explained it like

“If I search for [olympics], I probably want information about next summer’s upcoming Olympics, not the 1900 Summer Olympics (the only time my favorite sport, cricket, was played). Google Search uses a freshness algorithm, designed to give you the most up-to-date results, so even when I just type [olympics] without specifying 2012, I still find what I’m looking for.

Given the incredibly fast pace at which information moves in today’s world, the most recent information can be from the last week, day or even minute, and depending on the search terms, the algorithm needs to be able to figure out if a result from a week ago about a TV show is recent, or if a result from a week ago about breaking news is too old.”

Freshness Algorithm came after the updates of Panda updates (12% Change) and last year’s caffeine update, according to google new algorithm will make the search results “fresh” and also the results will change for about 35% of all searches, so what things it will change

1. Recent events or hot topics

2. Regularly recurring events

3. Frequent updates (Social Media)

Recent events or hot topics are those for which you want latest information immediately, like for [nba lockout] where you may even get minutes old information
Regularly recurring events like [olympics] etc where you want most up-to-date results
Frequent updates (not really a hot topic) means auto prices, features etc which can change frequently

Seeing that these changes will effect 35% of all searches, its the biggest Algorithm change by Google as Panda was only 12%.

Let us see how Google will come to know whats the fresh and not the duplicate or repost of the same contents. if you post some fresh blog and news update and then someone else posted the same with some changes in it, so whats fresh in those terms and which one be ranking and given reputation.

I think we will like Google to come with search ranking factors to determine quality when it wants to rank something is both fresh and good.

We know that JavaScript or JS is being used more and more by web designers and developers to improve the usability of the websites. It seems that Google has also given a stamp of approval to use of Java by Indexing of AJAX & JavaScript.

Here is confirmation from Matt Cutts in tweet at his twitter account

“Googlebot keeps getting smarter. Now has the ability to execute AJAX/JS to index some dynamic comments.”

On Webmaster Central Blog, Google has explained it in more detail as well which can be read here

http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/11/get-post-and-safely-surfacing-more-of.html

Now Facebook comments are being indexed by Google which means many third party commenting software platforms which are based on Java or Ajax like Disqus will be properly indexed by Google, We know that Disqus is widely used by webmasters on Word Press Blogs and Popular blog commenting software.

So now its important that you block Java files in robots.txt correctly which you do not want to get indexed by Google.

Execution of AJAX/JS to index dynamic comments by Google’s spider or GoogleBot also shows that Google has improved its crawling to index content in JavaScript or AJAX as compared to other search engines like Yahoo or Bing.

For SEO’s and Marketers, this is good things as lot of links which were not indexed before this change, will now be indexed and they will get more link juice. It will also change behavior and thinking of SEO’s towards importance of dynamic contents in terms of SEO.

We here at Submitshop tested and found that some of the Facebook comments are being indexed very fast.

Google has removed the + commonly which is commenly used in search results. If you will try to use + command Google will ignore this. I searched + CEO and good the following instruction form Google

The + operator has been replaced.

To search for an exact word or phrase, use double quotation marks: “ceo“

Now Google uses the quotation marks operator instead of the + operator. Search function still work but with quotation marks. Kelly from Google said

We’ve made the ways you can tell Google exactly what you want more consistent by expanding the functionality of the quotation marks operator. In addition to using this operator to search for an exact phrase, you can now add quotation marks around a single word to tell Google to match that word precisely. So, if in the past you would have searched for [magazine +latina], you should now search for [magazine "latina"].

My personal opinion is that now Google + is Google social networking and + search command will create a confusion among users.
